Day 1 Arrival in Chennai

Welcome on South India Temple Tour! You arrive at Chennai Airport in Chennai, the capital and largest city of Tamil Nadu. Delhi Taxi Service representative will meet at the airport and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and have some rest. Later, proceed to visit the famous temples of Chennai, covering Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Parthasarathy Temple, Chennakesava Perumal Temple, and Marundeeswara Temple. Other attractions you can see here include Marina Beach (dotted with several monuments and memorials), Government Museum, Victoria Public Hall, Fort St George, St Mary's Church, Valluvar Kottam, Vivekananda House, etc. On time get back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Kanchipuram. Enjoy sightseeing visiting and explore Kanchipuram temples. Main attractions include Kumarakottam Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple, Ekambareswarar Temple, Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Kailasanathar Temple, Muktheeswarar Temple, Thiru Parameswara Vinnagaram (also called Vaikunta Perumal Temple), and Trilokyanatha Temple (also called Thiruparthikundram Jain Temple). In the evening, drive to Mahabalipuram and check in at the pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and relax. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 3 Mahabalipuram

Take a very hearty breakfast at the hotel. Later proceed for sightseeing tour at Mahabalipuram. Visit the very famous Shore Temple Complex. Explore the temple complex and get amazed with its spectacular beauty and architectural styles. Also visit other monuments like Rathas (temples in the form of chariots) and mandapas (cave sanctuaries). The group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later visit the Art Sculpture Shops where you may do shopping and purchase handicraft items. In the evening relax at the beach and treat your eyes with spectacular view of the sunset. Get back to the hotel for dinner and overnight say.

Day 4 Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

Take breakfast at the hotel. See sunrise over the sea from Kanyakumari beach. Drive back to Kovalam and check in at the resort. Freshen up and relax. Spend rest of the day enjoying beach activities and water sports at the Kovalam Beaches. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the resort.

Day 5Pondicherry - Chidambaram

After breakfast check out from the hotel in Pondicherry and drive to Chidambaram, a town in Tamil Nadu state. Upon arrival enjoy sightseeing and visit the very famous Thillai Nataraja Temple (also called Chidambaram Temple) located in the heart of the city. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and hence the main deity at the temple complex is Lord Shiva. The temple complex also houses shrines of other deities like Lord Ganesh, Lord Vishnu, Shivakami Amman, Kartikeya, etc. This temple is very popular for the annual Natyanjali dance festival on Maha Shivaratri. The architecture of the temple complex is beautifully craved out. There are 9 gateways to the temple complex. Four of these have gateway towers called gopurams. There are 5 ambalams or sabhas (halls) inside the complex. There is also a Govindaraja Swamy Shrine, dedicated to Lord Vishnu inside the temple complex. Temple Tanks and Temple Car are other attractions inside the complex. After exploring the Chidambaram Temple Complex, check in at the pre-booked hotel at Chidambaram. Freshen up and relax. Day 6 Chidambaram - Velankanni

After breakfast at the hotel drive to Velankanni, a town in Tamil Nadu state. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Freshen up and relax. Later proceed for sightseeing tour, visiting Roman Catholic Latin Rite shrine called the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health. Get back to the hotel. Spend remaining day at leisure. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.

Day 7 Velankanni - Tanjore - Trichy

Have a very hearty breakfast and then check out form the hotel. Thereafter, drive to Tanjore (Thanjavur), a historical city in Tamil Nadu, known for Great Living Chola Temples and historical monuments, declared as UNESCO World Heritage Monuments. Enjoy sightseeing at Tanjore covering Brihadeeswara Temple, Thanjavur Maratha Palace, and Saraswathi Mahal Library, Nandi Temple, and other attractions. Later drive to Trichy and proceed for sightseeing upon arrival there. Trichy, also called Tiruchirappalli, is a historic city in the state of Tamil Nadu. Major attractions include Rockfort Temples, Ranganathaswamy Temple, Jambukeswarar Temple, Erumbeeswarar Temple, and Samayapuram Mariamman Temple. You may also see several other attractions apart from the temples. On time check in at the pre-booked hotel at Trichy. Freshen up and relax. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 8Trichy - Madurai

Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to Madurai, a popular tourist destination and important city in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Upon arrival in Madurai check in at the pre-booked hotel. After some rest, proceed for Madurai sightseeing tour, covering key attractions like Meenakshi Amman Temple, Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, Koodal Azhagar Temple, Kazimar Big Mosque, and Gandhi Memorial Museum. The Meenakshi Amman Temple is the prime attraction of the city. The temple complex consists of several structures including architecturally beautiful gopurams, shrines of deities, mandapams (halls), Meenakshi Nayakkar Mandapam (Hall of 1000 pillars), temple tanks, and surrounding portico. Day 9 Madurai - Rameshwaram

Take breakfast, check out from the hotel, and then make drive for Rameshwaram, a holy town and prominent tourist destination in Tamil Nadu. Located on Pamban Island (also called Rameshwaram Island), Rameshwaram is one of the holiest places in India for Hindus. It is a one of four holy destinations of the Char Dham Pilgrimage in India. Three other destinations are Badrinath in Uttarakhand in North India, Dwarka in Gujarat in West India, and Puri in Odisha in East India. The most famous attraction of this holy city is the Ramanathaswamy Temple, also called Rameshwaram Temple. The temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva, and closely associated with Lord Rama, the incarnation of Hindu God Vishnu. Hence, the temple along with the town is considered to be a holy pilgrimage for both Shaivas and Vaishnavas. On arrival in Rameshwaram, check in at the pre-booked hotel. Day 11Kanyakumari - Trivandrum

Upon arrival in Trivandrum check in at the pre-booked hotel. After some rest proceed for sightseeing tour in Trivandrum. Visit the very famous and beautiful Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the world's richest temple. Built in an intricate fusion of the Kerala architectural styles and Dravidian architectural styles, the temple is dedicated to Hindu's supreme God, Lord Vishnu. The shrine of the Lord Vishnu here is in "Anantha Shayanam" posture. Other attractions to see in this city include Attukal Bhagavathy Temple, Pazhavangadi Ganapathy Temple, Trivandrum Museum (Napier Museum), Trivandrum Zoo, Beemapally Mosque, Kowdiar Palace, Palayam Church, etc. After sightseeing in the city of Thiruvananthapuram, get back to the hotel on time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12 Trivandrum - Departure
